About Us
The Well was established in Cape May in the summer of 2005. We relocated here from Montauk at the eastern tip of NY’s Long Island where we were called Oasis Massage Center. Oasis was open for 10 years and we love it there still.
We like to think of ourselves as End of the Worlders - that’s what I think Montauk & Cape May have in common. Montauk is known as The End, and Cape May is Exit Zero. Both places take some patience to get to, but the payoff is well-worth it. Montauk is technically in The Hamptons but it is more like the Un-Hamptons to me. Here in Cape May, though we are part of The Jersey Shore, again I feel Cape May is more like The Un-Jersey Shore, closer to nature, more laid- back, reminiscent of simpler times. In both places, when you are here, you feel like you are away. Away from the crowds, the traffic & the chaos. The best part about Cape May is that you are only about a tank of gas away from home, from Connecticut to Virginia. Of course beach-goers & bird-watchers from all over the world also find their way to Americas First Resort - Cape May.
No chain stores, hotels or strip malls here, but if you miss them they’re not far away. If you love the beach, fishing , hiking or bird watching, we’ve got it in spades. Fine dining, casual food and Hot Dog Tommy’s are all here for when you get hungry. And now that The Well is here, you can get a world-class massage or body treatment too!

Stress is Inevitable,
Suffering is Optional
Easily said, but take a minute to think about it. Living in these trying times, stress has become a way of life for many. Fear & uncertainty abound. We sometimes feel helpless in the face of real & imagined troubles.
The stressors in our lives can cause injury & shorten lifespan. We can find ourselves locked in a state of constant readiness, the ‘fight or flight’ syndrome, when faced with stress & fear on a daily basis. The hormone Cortisol that our bodies produce in response to stress has far-reaching effects, depressing the immune system & making us more susceptible to illness & injury.
You say you can’t remove stress from your life, and that’s reasonable, but you don’t have to let stress cause you to suffer. ‘Suffering is Optional’ - sometimes all it takes is a change in perspective.
Somewhere along the line we get the idea that the destination matters more than the journey. ‘He with the most toys at the end wins’ - really? What have you won if you didn’t enjoy yourself along the way?
Living a longer, healthier, more contented life is the best reward you can have. Taking an hour or two once a day, once a week, once a month, to get centered & find peace can make a world of difference.
Getting enough sleep is not a crime. It does not make you a lazy person. In the same way, getting a massage occasionally is not pampering yourself. These things help the body increase its production of the hormone Serotonin & natural pain-killing Endorphins that support your well-being. Treat yourself Well.
